WHAT A RIP OFF

How many times have you purchased an action.script.elements pack that has been sold as "FOR COMMERCIAL USE" only to find when you have downloaded your purchase and read the Terms Of Use it was a waste of money.
You pay good money for your goods helping to line the pockets of the COMMERCIAL USE product creators and then their ridiculous TOU tells you that in reality what you have purchased should have been labelled for PERSONAL USE.
You offer free downloads and then up pops someone you have purchased a COMMERCIAL USE product from telling you that you cannot offer single elements using their product it is forbidden but offering them as part of a kit is acceptable.
ITS TIME TO MAKE A STAND!!!!
Obviously all goods whether COMMERCIAL USE or PERSONAL USE will have its own TOU but the vendor should give us more freedom of choice as to how they are used.
As of late more and more people are adding ridiculous DO'S and DON'TS to their so called COMMERCIAL USE products and ripping us off by false advertising to get a sale,if all you can do is use their COMMERCIAL USE products for personal use only then they should be re-labelled and not sold to us under false pretences.
FRIENDS BE WARNED
THIS IS A
COMMERCIAL USE RIP OFF !!!!

Well its about time someone made a stand against people who mislead us into buying items we believe are for commercial use I have been ripped off several times by well know people in the blogging world.

I've been caught out by this con! I bought several actions from a CU store. When I downloaded the actions and read the terms of use, I felt conned. The restrictions were ridiculous and only alowed me to sell my designs using these actions for personal use. These designers should be selling their actions and scripts as CU for PU and not CU. This is misleading.

How about the Tou's that say you can only use the stuff to make things for things you will sell off the computer, as real goods.
THAT is not commercial use.

Im a scrap and Poser designer.
Really the only rule I have is to not sell my posers in a poser pack on their own. As if they made them their selves . They would have problems doing that anyway since a lot of the store owners know my stuff.

But as for all my other crap, whatever. I just want them to make their own preview for the stuff.

I have a membership club where they can take my whole kit and sell it with their own preview page.
and they can sell all my stuff as cu 4 cu.

But if someone mails me to ask me if they can do something, I have not told anyone no.

There are very few of us out there that pretty much let people do anything.

here is my tou for my group, Which for 15$ have access to all the stuff I make (stuff I sell and my own resources I make that I don't sell) for a year. A good deal since I make good stuff :D

"I personally hate designers that tell you their stuff is CU but have so many restrictions their stuff isn't worth buying.
like you can use my images or elements but only as long as it looks like you didn't use anything of mine and you can only have 2% of my stuff in your kit, also you have to name me, every member of my family, every member in my town and write a 25 page dissertation about how wonderful I and my products are in your TOU for your kits.

Blah I figure you buy my crap you do what you want with it."

Thats my take on all this stuff :D

I believe that those selling kits or actions etc should post them as CU for PU if they don't want them used for Commercial use. The term Commercial Use means that they can be used for Commercial Use! These designers are not allowing them to be used for commercial use only personal use. They also impose a lot of restrictions which you don't know about until you read the terms of use! This is unfair and misleading.

If designers want to impose such restrictions they should have this clearly noted on the product they are selling so people like us don't waste our money!

Designers should not keep changing their terms of use either. One minute you're allowed to use it in a certain way, the following week it's been changed saying you can't. That is completely unfair!

As a designer myself...I agree...I bought hundreds of dollars already on "CU" products, and for what...I have to use most of it with something else, never alone...UGH...I offer all my CU freeies with NO rules, no restrictions...I believe it should be that way...Once you buy it, it's yours...As far as my free kits being offered on other sites for free...that doesn't bother me, what pisses me off, is these plaves are calling it their own...It's not...They are giving my kit away for free, which is fine...but they shouldn't say it is theirs!!! Common sense, and some credit would be nice...

I AM A NEW DESIGNERT AND I HAVE BOUGHT QUIT A BIT OF SO CALLED " CU ITEMS" ONLY TO DOWNLOAD AND UNZIP AND THEY SAY PERSONAL USE ,, IT IS VERY MISLEADING AND UNFAIR....I HAVE DECIDED WAY BEFORE I GOT INTO DESIGNING IM NOT GONNA BE SO UPTIGHT ON MY TOU, IF THEY FEEL THE NEED TO CLAIM AS THIER OWN THEN IT ON THIER CONCENSE NOT MINE,,IF THEY WANNA SHARE WELL THATS ON THEM TOO , I THINK THE DESIGNERS NEED TO NOT BE SO UPTIGHT AND STRICT AS THERE ARE FAR MORE SERIOUS ISSUES GOIN ON IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW THAT IF JOE BLOW STOLE MEY PAPER AND CALLED IT THIER OWN , COME ON NOW LIGHTEN UP WILL YA LOL

OK, I'm furious about this sort of behaviour in the scrapping business. I make personalised cards which I like to sell at my local market stall each weekend. I sell a lot of them! Now I buy my elements from a well known hobby shop. I then create my cards and sell them. There are no restrictions at all. Why do these designers think they're above e veryone else and place such stupid restrictions on how their precious work is used. It's laughable.

cu4cu is for us to use them for our cu kits commercial use means we can use them in our personal use kits.mabe you should buy cu4cu if you want to sell them in your cu kits.thats what most of us designers do it is common sence if it doesnt say cu4cu its cu for you to use in personal kits you sell.
